So being a fan of bands like CoB, Norther, Ensiferum and Wintersun, I figured I'd give 'em a listen and, at first, I thought they were pretty good. But after having checked out a pretty fair sampling of their songs, what can I say? They're technically very skilled but they bore me to tears because they have no dynamic variation in any of their music. It's like each band member has a couple of basic metal skills mastered BUT THAT'S IT. All their songs sound the same to me. Take In Flames, add some CoB style keyboards, fuse them into a single band and THEN curse them with the repetitiveness of Tom Morello, you've got Kalmah. I don't mean to be a "hater" but this is the most unoriginal, mundane and pointless (pick random genre) metal band I've ever heard. Y’know, I hadn’t really heard any Kalmah until last night.
