Valkyrja, the Swedish black metal act in the vein of others like Naglfar, has signed a two record deal with Metal Blade Records according to their Myspace page. They are currently in the studio recording their second album, while the first one (originally released on Northern Silence Productions) will be re-issued by Metal Blade on the 17th of July in certain countries (Denmark, Italy and Austria) and the 21st throughout Europe. The record will reportedly be given a new CD cover, which has not been given to the band yet.
The band’s blog reads as such:
The 22nd of June Valkyrja will begin the recording of the second album in Necromorbus Studio. The procedure will span throughout the summer and be available in printed form in late 2009 / early 2010 through Metal Blade Records – if no greater harm is done to the schedule. As for now there are no further details available. Nothing more will be written until everything is completed and an entry including all information and alike will follow..
The re-release date for the debut album “The Invocation of Demise” has been set to July 17th. Pre-orders are taken in Metal Blades [sic] web store, as promised with new cover artwork which will be uploaded in the near future when the time does allow us.
